About us

After 10 years nursing in the NHS we bought Briercliffe Lodge in 1988 and have since improved and extended the home and developed a loyal and caring staff. All care staff are trained to at least NVQ level 2 in Social Care.

Briercliffe Lodge is regulated and inspected by The Care Quality Commission and is a Lancashire County Council ‘Preferred provider’. We first achieved the ‘Investor in People’ award in 2001 and have continued to meet the exacting standards required at each review.

We care for up to 17 residents, both men and women, who require help with personal care (not nursing). Our residents may be with or without physical disability, mental impairment, incontinence or other medical conditions. Our residents may be funded by the County Council or self funding. We cater for long or short term care and although we do not have a dedicated respite care bed we can offer this service when a room is available.

We have 13 single (7 with en suite toilets) and 2 double rooms. Spacious communal areas, with TV and DVD facilities and a light and airy conservatory, mature gardens and wheelchair accessible area with raised flowerbeds are all available for residents and their visitors to use.

Please feel free to call us and arrange a visit.
