Facilities

Residents have the right to choose their GP and have access to healthcare facilities as any other citizen.

Community Nurses visit residents at Briercliffe Lodge to give treatments as requested by their GP.

A chiropodist visits Briercliffe Lodge every 8 weeks, and treatments are available at an additional cost.

Visits from an optician and dentist are arranged annually or when required, or you may wish to keep seeing your own practitioner.

Newspapers and magazines can be delivered to you, the cost of which is not included in the fees.

The hairdresser visits fortnightly. Basic hair treatments are available, plus a selection of special treatments such as colours or perms.  All hairdressing services are an additional cost. 

Activities are provided ‘in-house’ and are under constant review, please let us know what you like to do.

Trips out are arranged, there is usually a small extra charge for these.

Small pets can sometimes be accommodated; this is assessed on an individual basis.

Residents are encouraged to invite visitors to the Home either in their own room or in communal spaces.

T.V. points are available in each room.

A cordless telephone is available for residents to receive in coming calls or you may have a phone installed in your room at your own cost.

Free Wi-Fi access is available and the use of a laptop computer to keep in touch with distant family and friends.

The conservatory, veranda and gardens are there for you to enjoy. We have an easy access garden with raised beds for those who enjoy getting their hands dirty.

Hoists and moving equipment are available to assist less mobile residents to bathe and transfer from bed to chair etc.  We have a choice of bath or walk in shower.

We have stair lifts to allow access to other levels of the home.

Regular Residents meetings are held and everyone is encouraged to put forward their views and ideas.
